Petunia update and adoption

Petunia's pregnant pooch ended up being weight gain from being so wormy. She is doing fabulous still though!! We wanted to make sure everyone who was following her story and who helped save her life knew the update and knew she didn't have puppies. We still appreciate everyones help in saving this sweet baby.
She is now up for adoption and hopes to find her forever home. She has a second chance at life after being saved from death row, and she is still living it up with her foster family.
She's a spoiled rotten mischevious princess who thinks everything should revolve around her. She is a total sweetheart though!
If interested in adopting her please contact us and we will begin the application process.

Petunia 10/14/2011

Petunia is still doing wonderfully!! She appears to be filling out in her bag now and has a bit of a "pregnant" pooch. She was very wormy when she came in to us, so she was wormed with pregnant safe wormer to get rid of the worms. She hasn't put on a lot of weight, but the worms were eating a lot of her food, so she is still trying to recoup from that. She is doing absolutly wonderful with her foster family. They love her to death! She follows them around the house, and makes herself comfortable. No accidents in the house yet or in her crate. She does like to find trouble if she can though. Despite how angelic she looks she isn't completely innocent. Haha! Pictures below taken today.

Petunia Pics 10/01/11

Petunia is still doing fabulous!! She's learning a lot and loves her foster family. She goes on daily walks multiple times, and she is loving everything. She walks a lot with her foster friend Daisy and they have a wonderful time!!
Pics were taken today, October 1.
As you can see she still has her classical Petunia yawn. Something about her and picture taking that makes her get sleepy evidently.

Petunia here....

As I type this I'm sitting on one of my foster Mom's beds using her computer. She said she wanted me to say a few words, soooo I figured I'd pop on to say Hi! As soon as I finish I've got to finish my nap though.
I'm doing fabulous! Settled in now to my new foster home, and having the time of my life. We go on multiple walks each day, I'm working on crate and house training, and what time we aren't doing that, I'm mosing around the house trying to keep up with everyone. I love it though! I have other doggy friends, and I met some 4 legged things that go baaaa. They are strange to say the least. I'm still trying to figure out if I should be friends, or if they look better for supper. So far things are going great though. I can't complain. I am glad to be back with my people though. I know I should never have ran away from home, but like most people, we all have a little adventure in us and I wanted to see what the real world had. It wasn't as good as being at home though, so I won't be pulling that stunt anymore. I know I worried a lot of people, and I hate that. I'm so used to not having many people care about me, that I didn't think about it before I ran away. I'm home now though and I'm soooo happy. Thank you everyone for your help, and for your love!!! My foster mom's have told me if it quits being cloudy/rainy we'll get some new pics of me hopefully. So just hang on tight, and we'll get some soon.
Thanks for checking in!! Now, I hate to jet but I've got to get in my nap before it's time to go walk again while dodging rain showers.
Hugs and kisses to everyone!!!

Petunia's Second Chance

I was looking at dogs needing to be saved,
As I scrolled by your picture I think it waved.
Reading your sweet face,
You could see you wanted someone’s sweet embrace.
The decision was quickly made to give you a fresh start,
But how to get you here played a huge part.
Countless hours spent to save your precious life
Trying our best to save you from your strife.
Ups and downs were all around,
But I knew we couldn’t let you down.
Trying every possible way,
To give you many more days.
We hadn’t given up yet,
But were things looking down? You bet!
Finally at last it all came together,
Despite even the gloomy weather.
You had to endure 3 legs of a trip,
But it was worth it to get the “get out of jail free” slip.
Scared and shy were you first of all,
Then you warmed up and had a ball.
Happy for your brand new chance,
You’ve got plenty of time now to prance.
Here’s a shout out to all who helped you,
Its thanks that is very much due!!

Petunia and her friend Daisy (another foster):

Petunia pics 9/17/11 at her new foster family

One happy girl all the way around. ;) If only she could tell us about her adventures "out there". Would love to know what she saw, lived, expierenced, etc. I can see the adventure still in her eyes, it's there, she just can't put it into words for us sadly.

Enjoy the pics!

We are pretty sure the pic below is a classical Petunia face, but also one that reads "I'm exhausted":

Petunia Update 3:30pm Saturday, 9/17/11

Due to the situation we were put in with Petunia going missing, she has moved foster families. She is now being fostered by the family who picked her up from Carol, on the last leg of her journey. She will stay here until she has her puppies and until they can all be old enough to be adopted into new homes. Hopefully nothing else eventful will happen in the life of Petunia, other then finding her and her puppies a wonderful home to live out the rest of their days.
What happened should not have happened, but we are so grateful Petunia made her way back home. Thanks for all the prayers, thoughts, help, etc. We Praise the Lord she made it back home safe and sound!!! The foster family should be able to keep frequent updates on her here, so be sure and check back regularly.
Thank you once again to EVERYONE who helped us!!

She's home!

Petunia is home! She showed back up at home last night. She just couldn't stay gone long, she knew where the love was.

We will do our best....

to keep this as updated as we can when we have new information on Petunia or her whereabouts. I can assure you we are looking, searching, and posting as much as we can. We have tried to call everyone locally, posted ads, posted on facebook walls to lots of local places, drove around the neighborhood numerous times off and on all day, and of course walked a lot calling and whistling for her. The volunteers have dry lips and dry throats from calling and whistling so much for her. We will not give up though! We are regrouping and will try again tomorrow. Please do keep good thoughts and prayers coming!! We need every bit of help we can find. If you can't help us search, then your prayers are sufficent enough. THANK YOU!

9pm update on 9/16/2011

As of 9pm, we still have no Petunia. We just came in from looking again, and can not find her. We have posted everywhere we can, and contacted everyone we can. We did hear a beagle sounding dog in the distance, but it was in heavily populated woods, and we could've gotten shot, so we opted to wait until morning. Hoping and praying with everything in me she comes back tomorrow! Please pray for her safe return!

She is lost, please help if you can!

This is the ad we are posting everywhere, so if you know of anywhere to post it, please do so. We would greatly appreciate it!!

"Petunia is a Female, Beagle Mix. She was saved from a high kill shelter almost 2 wks. ago. She got out of her exercise pen because a volunteer didn't latch her kennel back properly. She was last seen on September 15, 2011 at the corner of Becky Hill Road and Yadkin College Road in Lexington. She is brown/tan with black markings. She has a red bandana collar on without tags. She loves people, and is super friendly. She may not come for her name, but she does come to most people if you call her/sweet talk her. She is approx. 1 1/2 yrs. old.
If you see her, or know of her where abouts please call or text 336-425-7252 or 336-425-6805. Texting is easier to respond to, but we will accept calls and respond to them as quickly as possible. She is approx. 35 lbs and 16-18 inches tall at the shoulder.

We are desperately trying to find this precious girl, so please, if you can help in anyway we'd certainly appreciate it."

Petunia Update 9/09/2011

Some updated pictures of Ms. Petunia. She is blossoming (pun kind of intended and kind of not, haha). She has already come out of her shell so much since she came to us earlier this week. She is an amazing girl! You wouldn't find a more sweet, calm, yet outgoing little girl. She's the best!!
